I met Nicki by chance a few years ago when I stumbled across her website and sent her a random email asking about album suppliers!! We hit it off straight away and after the first flurry of emails it felt like we had know each other years. Even though we live nearly 2 hours apart we quickly became close friends. In those few years we have shared a lot – 2nd shooting for each another, glamping, camping, attending photography workshops together, skyping to keep each other company during late night editing sessions & chatting into the wee hours of the morning, supporting each other as our business have grown & gone from strength to strength. We’ve been through a lot together, and to be honest, if it wasn’t for Nicki’s constant support I don’t know if I would be where I am today…
And today I get to share her wedding with you. When Nicki asked me to be her photographer I felt so honoured. Nicki is amazing wedding photographer herself so I had some big shoes to fill!! They just wanted me to enjoy the day, and I really did enjoy every second, but I also wanted to do them proud, do their day justice. Take photos that captured the atmosphere & love…and WOW so much love. Nicki + Steve are the kindest, sweetest people you could ever hope to meet and their friends were just as lovely. You could literally feel the happiness in the air that day, it was amazing.
Nicki planned a day that was totally them, their personalities shone through and there were so many personal touches that made the day perfect. My favourite part had to be when Father Christmas made a surprise visit, seeing the excitement on the kids faces – priceless! It wasn’t all plain sailing though, 2 weeks before the wedding Nicki changed caterers, and then one week before they discovered that the village hall where their reception was to be held was in the midst of scaffolding, skips & building works so they had to change their venue last minute!! But it all happened for the best, and we couldn’t have asked for a more christmassy venue than Bignor Park!
In could whittle on all day about how incredible it all was, but I’ll leave you with some of my favourites…and there are A LOT!!! It was not easy to narrow these down so I didn’t bother!!! Nicki + Steve, I can’t tell you how awesome you both are. I feel privileged to be your photographer & friend. I hope you love your photos & that they bring all the joy of that day back every time you look at them. BIG BIG MAHOOOSIVE LOVE, Kelly x x x x
Nicki, you are so beautiful inside & out…
Loved her bouquet with christmas tree, winter berries & cherries – yes CHERRIES!!!!! ahhhhhh, love!! The amazing Bride & bridesmaids dresses were all made by Nicki’s niece Emma (far right) These guys were great fun… One of my all time favourite photos I have ever taken…the light, the love, the colours – just love it all x x x Team Lyall, love these guys Look who came to town…
Hands up, who’s been a good girl or boy this year… Yay, there I am!!! Love this lady x x The bling…
So many talented people helped to bring Nicki’s dreams to life and I have to give a MASSIVE mention to her niece & bridesmaid Emma. She made Nicki’s incredible dress and the bridesmaids dresses too – so talented that one, I’m betting she will have a very successful dressmaking business before long!
